On Belonging
‘OnBelonging’ is a spatial sound installation including musical compositions created from field recordings. The work makes use of environmental resonances and sounds to create music. The compositions are designed to elicit wonder, empathy and connection with the environment.
The purpose of the installation, however, is not only to provide a person the experience of belonging but also disconnection within the space in which it’s presented. The idea is to leave the listener with the notion that their mere presence in some way affects that environment.
